We’re over a year out from Election Day, but the attacks are already starting. The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) just launched their first attack ad against Elissa.

To be exact, we’re 550 days away from the 2024 elections, but Mitch McConnell is already attacking us online, and getting the story onto Fox News. As is now the norm, the ad is devoid of any actual facts. This one claims Elissa — a former CIA officer and Pentagon official — is in cahoots with the Chinese Communist Party.

But despite bad execution, attacks this early need to be taken seriously. It’s a signal that our campaign is a threat to Mitch McConnell and his plans to take back the Senate majority, and they’re ready to fight to flip this seat red.

Unfortunately, attacks starting this early mean some Michiganders are going to see this stuff before they’ve even had the chance to meet Elissa. Particularly in media markets far away from Elissa’s current district. That means we’re going to need to be prepared to set the record straight.
