May General Meeting!


** City Council endorsements and Delegate Elections

Comrades and Friends,

Santa Fe DSA will be having our May General meeting this coming Sunday, the 28th, at 2PM. We will be meeting in person at the Earth Care office at 6600 Valentine Way, Sante Fe, NM. If you would like to participate over zoom, here's the link: [link removed]

This general meeting will have several important items on the agenda, providing updates to the Strike Ready pledge the chapter committed to at the last general meeting, and also discussing endorsements for the upcoming Santa Fe City Council elections. Alma Castro, a candidate for City Council District 1, has applied for our chapter's endorsement, and will be answering questions at the meeting.

We will also be conducting delegate elections for this summer's DSA National Convention. Santa Fe DSA has been allocated 1 delegate and 1 alternate for the convention. If you would like to run as a delegate, please fill out this nomination form ([link removed]) . Nominations will be open until the end of Sunday's general meeting. The election for delegate will be conducted virtually, through OpaVote, and will last from Sunday evening until 11:59 PM on Friday, June 2. The election for delegate will be conducted via Instant Runoff Voting (to learn more about this process, this article has detailed information ([link removed]) ). The first place winner of the election will be the chapter's delegate, after which we will re-tabulate the ballots with the winner excluded, to decide the chapter's alternate. Finally, this Saturday we will be continuing our reading group for "The State and Revolution", this time reading Chapter 3. We will be meeting at 10 AM at Larragoite Park, Santa Fe.
