Time flies, friend!
It’s hard to believe, but it’s been 100 days since I launched my campaign for U.S. Senate in Michigan.
On February 27th, I hit the ground running on the statewide campaign – starting with a statewide listening tour that includes stops in Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, Lansing and back to Detroit. Since then, I’ve spent time in over 30 cities and towns across the state, been endorsed by EMILY’s List, Vote Vets, 14 major labor unions, and over 50 local leaders from Lansing. I’ve also met with over 400 local leaders.
Most importantly, I’ve been taking time to have real conversations with Michiganders about what they want from their next Senator. I’ve heard about equality of opportunity for our kids, lowering the costs of healthcare, housing and childcare, making it easier for small businesses to succeed, keeping our kids safe in their classrooms and communities, and bringing good-paying jobs back to Michigan from overseas.
And what’s the one thing I hear across the state? That people know our country is going through something, and they want to know that the light is at the end of the tunnel.
It’s clear we have on-the-ground momentum on our side. But this will be the largest operation Team Slotkin has ever run. We’re going from running in 7 counties to running in all 83 counties. But we’re going to do it the way we’ve done it before: by listening to what the voters want, making a strategic plan, and implementing that plan effectively.
In order to do that, we’re going to need your help. These first 100 days have been critical to setting us up for success down the line, but there is still a lot of work to do to build the early financial foundation we’ll need to win. So please:
