Friend,
It’s been nearly a year since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, and reproductive rights are under attack all across the country. Many Republican states are enacting laws that ban abortion in the first few weeks of pregnancy. It’s heartbreaking.
Here in Alaska, abortion is still legal, and a woman’s health care choices remain her own. Alaska can be a model for other states to follow, if we can spread the word far and wide. Will you make a contribution to help us show that Alaska is leading the way on reproductive rights?
You might ask: How is this possible in a purple state with an anti-choice Republican governor?
Our state constitution protects reproductive rights, and Alaska courts have consistently defended access to reproductive health care. It would take an amendment to Alaska’s constitution to change this, which is an unpopular idea in the legislature and among Alaskans at large.
At a time when women’s rights and access to health care are being attacked, Alaska provides an example for the rest of the country. We need to make Alaskan common sense one of our main exports to the rest of the country. Please, friend — will you donate to our work of building Alaska’s future and building up an example for the entire nation?
While the work continues in Washington to restore reproductive rights nationwide, Alaska is keeping its promise to Alaskans.
