Good morning Democrats of Indian River. It has been a busy week in Florida politics with much of it centering on the authoritarian leadership of our governor, Ron DeSantis. Here's a brief look at the Florida stories making national headlines this week:
Today, Vice President Harris will visit Florida to deliver remarks in response to the Florida Board of Education approval of new standards promoting that Black slaves benefited from slavery.
Advocates spoke out in Tallahassee against DeSantis' racist and unconstitutional property ban law restricting AAPI immigrants and others from purchasing property.
Insurance providers are pulling out of Florida and Republicans have no plan to address the insurance crisis they created.
Senator Rick Scott has competition. Navy Veteran and Democrat Phil Ehr has officially launched his campaign for Florida Senate 2024.
BREAKING Donald Trump's criminal trial on charges of withholding and concealing classified and top-secret documents will begin in Ft. Pierce, Florida on May 20, 2024.
