Friend, I wanted to make sure you saw this email from my team yesterday: Last month, Bloomberg highlighted our honest, transparent email program. Since launching my first campaign, I have taken a unique approach to emails – no fake deadlines, no gimmicky tactics. And I write or edit every single one.

This should be the standard, but too often candidates and organizations fill up supporter inboxes with tricks to bring in a few bucks. This is not how I run things. I will always be upfront about the needs of my campaign and the ways your support really does make an impact.

Your support of even just a few dollars really does help us power this campaign – which is also why I’m reaching out today. With July wrapping up, our team is tracking our internal fundraising goals very closely to make sure we stay on pace. Can I count on you to chip in $3 to this email to help us hit our internal goal for the month?

Thank you,

Hello there — Elissa has always been honest and up front about the fact that we won’t use fake deadlines or scam-like tricks to get you to donate. In an environment where candidates often send click-bait content to get a few bucks in the door, our mild and transparent approach has been getting noticed:

Headline from Bloomberg: Politicians are trying a new fundraising approach: Honesty DONATE TO ELISSA

So today, in the spirit of honesty and transparency, we’re asking you to consider chipping in to this Senate campaign in Michigan before Monday.

Here’s why:

Monday at midnight, we face our July monthly fundraising goal. And while this isn’t an official FEC public reporting deadline, it’s an important benchmark that we use internally to track our progress against what we know we need to raise to remain competitive in this race.

We’ve said it before, but starting strong gives us an ability to book TV ad time early and carve out an advantage in what is going to be one of the most competitive Senate races in the country.

That’s why we are asking for donations so far ahead of the election. While people often like to wait until the last months before the election to donate, it’s a fact that early money is more helpful, and allows smart candidates to make more cost-effective financial plans. It really does allow us to do the strategic planning to run a successful campaign.

We’ve made it a priority to never spam your inbox by pushing fake deadlines and using “the sky is falling tactics,” but your support is important to what we can accomplish here. That’s why we’re asking today: If you’re able, will you chip in $3 to help us reach our July fundraising goal before Monday at midnight?

If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your contribution instantly:

Thank you for all of your support this month,

Team Slotkin
