former President Barack Obama will celebrate his birthday in just a few
days!

As President, Obama led our country with science, courage, and integrity.
He passed the biggest healthcare expansion of the past 50 years, joined
the historic Paris Climate Agreement, and spearheaded our nation’s
recovery after the worst economic crisis in decades.

His commitment to public service didn’t end when he left the White House.
Since leaving office, he and Michelle continue to dedicate themselves to
defending voting rights, fighting for action on climate and gun violence,
and supporting Democrats at every level of government (including many of
our own scientists!).
