Folks,
The Supreme Court just rejected the Alabama GOP’s congressional map. They affirmed what we’ve known all along. The extremists in my home state are hell-bent on suppressing the voting power of Black Alabamians.
The decision today marked the final defeat of this racially discriminatory voting map. Democracy has prevailed in Alabama and in all likelihood we’ll have a new competitive seat in the state of Alabama.
This is a big deal, folks. Extremist Republicans tried to ignore the law and disenfranchise Black Alabamians and they lost. Spread the word. Make sure to tell your friends and family members about the exciting news. This is a big opportunity.
We’ve got a new path to the House seat in Alabama. But it’s not just here. This decision has the potential to reverberate across the region. I know that MAGA extremists in Georgia and Louisiana have put forth similar maps that could be struck down under the precedent set in Alabama.
With the House majority coming down to just a couple of votes, the South could very well decide the control over Congress.
That’s why I’m continuing to travel around the country and supporting candidates who have an opportunity to win some crucial races this cycle. Based on the great news today, that focus could include a few important House races in Alabama and in the neighboring states.
Can I count on you to help support that work? We’ve got a real opening here, and we need to capitalize on it!
