I’ve got some real exciting news for you, folks. A federal court has chosen a new congressional map for Alabama. This map is based on the principle of one person, one vote. It will enfranchise tens of thousands of Black Alabamians.

The map also turns Alabama’s 2nd district from a solid GOP seat into a district that President Biden won by thirteen points in 2020.

When I talk about change coming to the South, moments like this are exactly what I’m talking about.

The current representative of this district is Barry Moore. He’s a MAGA extremist through and through, backing Trump’s Big Lie and even recently announcing that he wants to install Trump Speaker of the House.

So, in short, we’ve got a shot at trading a far-right Trump acolyte with a common-sense Democrat. That sounds like some good news to me!

But make no mistake, winning this seat is not a given - we’ve got to work hard to make that happen. I know I’ll be monitoring this race and I intend to support the Democratic nominee with everything I’ve got in 2024.

The stakes here are high. You’ve seen the chaos in the House over the past week. The MAGA crazies nearly shut down the government and then kicked out the Speaker for not getting their way. Reports are now saying that Jim Jordan could take over the post. I shudder to think of that man with the gavel.

We need to get these extremists out of the majority. And Alabama’s new 2nd Congressional District is a great place to start. Can you pitch in and help support our work to do so today? [[link removed]]
