Jim Jordan has been in the news all week as he continues to try to become the next Speaker of the House. As he demands yet another public vote on the House Floor, we thought it would be useful to break down who Jim Jordan is, by the numbers:
1: Number of insurrections incited. Jordan was one of Donald Trump’s most enthusiastic henchmen in the efforts to overturn the 2020 election, and was subpoenaed by the January 6th Committee for his role as a “significant player in President Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election”, and he was referred to the House Ethics Committee for investigation.
6: Number of wrestlers who have come forward to say Jordan turned a deliberate blind eye to sexual assaults by his assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State. This issue is particularly sensitive in Michigan, where Larry Nasser, a gymnastics coach, was convicted of sexually assaulting over 265 women and girls while some officials turned a blind eye.
0: Number of bills passed into law in his 16 years in Congress. Jim Jordan is a true culture war activist who doesn’t have a single law to show for his time representing his district.
We don’t need extremists like Jim Jordan in House leadership. At this moment in our history, and with so much going on in the world, we need principled, bipartisan leaders who will get to work on behalf of the country. If you agree, we’d love a contribution to Elissa’s campaign for Senate today.
CONTRIBUTEBut the above numbers aren’t the only concerning ones. If you pull back the curtain on one of Elissa’s potential opponents, former Congressman Mike Rogers, the numbers also tell quite a story:
192: Number of bills Mike Rogers co-sponsored together with Jim Jordan.
3: Number of times Mike Rogers and Jim Jordan cosponsored legislation to enforce a federal abortion ban, in every state in the country — with zero exceptions for rape, incest or common miscarriage.
7: Number of times Mike Rogers and Jim Jordan voted to privatize, and thereby cut, Medicare together, in Rogers’ 14 years in the House. So about once every year they served together.
Here’s another number: $3. That’s the amount you can contribute to help us send Elissa Slotkin to the Senate and push back against Jim Jordan and Mike Roger’s brand of extremism. Will you chip in to our campaign today?
