Hi, it's Alex.

As you probably expected when you opened this email, I’m about to ask you to chip in $15 — or whatever amount feels right — to help me defend our Democratic majority in the Senate.

But first, I want to take a second to explain why I keep asking, and the impact your contribution can have.

Unlike Mitch McConnell and the GOP, I don’t have Big Oil and the pharmaceutical companies lining up to fund our work. Instead, we’re counting on grassroots supporters like you chipping in $15 at a time when you can afford it.

I wouldn’t have it any other way, of course. I’m in the Senate to serve the people of California and all Americans, not massive corporations.

But that means that in times like this, with an important fundraising email at midnight, I’m turning to you. Because when lots of people all chip in, it adds up fast. So please:

Can you make a contribution to my campaign before tonight’s midnight fundraising deadline? I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important to our success.
