Here on Team Slotkin, we like math. And if you look at the presidential path to victory in 2024, there is one state that is currently expected to decide the fate of the election. It's Michigan.
You might be wondering why we're talking about the presidential race when we're running a Senate campaign to elect Elissa Slotkin. Here's why: the statewide organizing work our campaign will do in the year ahead will have a huge impact on whether we'll turn out the voters not only to send Elissa to the Senate, but also to send Joe Biden back to the White House.
So when we talk about the significance of this Senate race, it's because the path to defending the Senate AND the White House runs through Michigan.
In a state that will be as close as Michigan, we need to allocate our resources as efficiently as possible. When you're fundraising for a campaign, quite a bit of the money is raised late in the race. But it's actually the money that comes *early* — i.e. nowish - that allows us to make more strategic spending decisions.
That's why we're asking: Can you please make a contribution to Elissa's campaign for Senate today? Every donation made at this point in the race will have a greater impact than donations made later on.

Here's another reason why early money is so important: National Republicans have their sights set on Michigan, and we can expect them to pour millions of dollars into super PACs to try to flip this Senate seat. That means this is going to be an expensive race – and our campaign needs to have the resources necessary to fight back against Republican attack ads and outside spending.
Winning in Michigan certainly will not be easy. But we can do it as long as all of us are committed to doing the work required to send Elissa to the Senate.
In order to show you are committed to that effort, it would mean a lot if you could contribute to Elissa's campaign for Senate today.
Thank you for chipping in to stand with Elissa today.
