Sustainable Buildings:
Identifying Leverage Points for Climate Action
Did you know that about 40% of global carbon emissions are attributable to buildings? Changing the way we build new buildings — and renovate existing buildings — will play an important role in meeting our global climate goals.
Please join us on Monday December 4, to hear from Ben Austin, Sustainability Lead at the Madison construction firm J.H. Findorff & Son. Ben will address the opportunities and challenges of taking climate action in the building sector. He joins us at the invitation of 350 Wisconsin’s Community Climate Solutions Team.

As Sustainability Lead at Findorff, Ben Austin works with owners, design teams, and construction partners to define and deliver on project sustainability goals. Internal to Findorff, he also leads teams driving sustainability efforts within Findorff-owned buildings and within their culture. Ben has degrees in Civil Engineering and Sustainability Leadership, in addition to being a LEED and WELL Accredited Professional.

Please join us for this special event. As you all know, most kids do not learn much about climate science, the climate crisis, or how it will affect them in their futures, let alone the solutions available to us. That needs to change.
The Center for Climate Literacy out of the Univ. of Minnesota is speaking about this issue on Dec. 4th at 7. Below is the description, and attached is a flyer with the QR code to register. Fair Trade and Climate Change
Clayton Tucker
Clayton Tucker is a former teacher, author, small business owner, and rancher. Clayton works  for the Trade Justice Education Fund, a nonprofit that sponsors public education programs designed to expand awareness about the implications of U.S. trade policy.
Clayton is also the county chair for Lampasas Democrats, Field Director with Texas Young Democrats, founder & President of the Texas Progressive Caucus, co-founder of the Texas Grassroots Alliance, and SDEC-24 Committeeman with the Texas Democratic Party.
Clayton is also a founding board member of Killeen Creators, an advisory committee member with Ground Game Texas, a board member with Blue Horizons Texas, Youth Rep with the Texas Democratic Rural Caucus, was an organizer with former Texas Agricultural Commissioner Jim Hightower, and was the 2020 SD-24 Democratic nominee.

Chase & Wells Fargo Banks
Many banks (including Chase and Wells Fargo) are lending their depositor's money to fossil fuel companies to develop new fossil fuel production.
We want more people to be aware of this and hopefully change their bank or talk to the bank management!
We get honks and thumbs up from drivers and passersby. Some people stop and have a chat about what the banks are doing, or ask, "What is fossil fuel?"
We're alternating between two Chase Bank locations.
