Hi John,
Last week’s horrifying actions by the Texas Supreme Court, which chose to deny abortion care in a pregnancy that threatened Kate Cox’s life, health, and future fertility, were typical of the state of abortion access in the U.S. in 2023. Fourteen states have broadly banned abortion, and many more have imposed other burdensome restrictions through legislative action.
But young people are undeterred in their fight to ensure everyone can get the abortion care they need.
Donate $50 to support young people fighting for abortion access.
Advocates for Youth supports youth activists working on every aspect of the fight for abortion access - from working to fight bans and pass supportive laws, to ensuring everyone has information about self-managed abortion, to sharing abortion stories and fighting abortion stigma.
One important fight for young people has been ensuring medication abortion is available on college campuses. Hennessy, a youth activist with YouthASC and member of the NY Student Advisory Board for Medication Abortion on Campus, mobilized a network of young people in New York to advocate for access to medication abortion on state college and university campuses, helping to pass a bill that will expand access for nearly 600,000 SUNY and CUNY students.
Donate to support activists like Hennessy!
With your support, we can keep working with youth activists to build their skills, support them in their efforts to educate, and mobilize their peers.
As the fight for abortion access continues, I hope you will join me in pledging to work alongside the young leaders at the forefront.
Thank you for your support,
Debra Hauser
