As commissioner of public lands, Hilary has been on the frontlines of climate change, from protecting communities from wildfires and floods to making our lands and waters more resilient to drought, heat, and rising sea levels.

As a result of Hilary’s leadership, Washington has undergone a profound transformation, emerging as a national example for wildfire fighting and mitigation, clean energy expansion, drought mitigation, and climate resilience.
