Why we are 350: Scientists overwhelmingly agree that 350ppm CO2 is the upper limit to sustain life as humans have lived it. For more than 800,000 years atmospheric CO2 varied between roughly 180 to 280ppm ([link removed]) .
Earth passed 350ppm CO2 during 1988!

COP 28: The Global Climate Gathering
A Flawed but Vital Process
Candice Owley
COP 1 was held in Berlin in 1995. There have now been 28 COPs, the recent one held in Dubai. It was also the largest ever with 90,000 or more people in attendance. As the COP has grown so to have the problems COP was established to address. It is the one time each year when the whole world confronts the climate crisis but it also is a time to reflect on our collective failure to deal with the crisis.
As a first time participant and a formal COP28 Observer for the League of Women Voters US, Ms. Owley will share her experience and observations regarding the process, event, outcomes and value of the COP process.
Following Ms. Owley's presentation, 350MKE's own Dr. George Stone will comment on his takeaway of COP28.
Member Tim Kehl will lead a Q&A / discussion of our concerns and viewpoints.

Fridays from 12:00 - 1:00 pm
βChase & Wells Fargo Banks
Many banks (including Chase and Wells Fargo) are lending their depositor's money to fossil fuel companies to develop new fossil fuel production.
We want more people to be aware of this and hopefully change their bank or talk to the bank management!
We get honks and thumbs up from drivers and passersby. Some people stop and have a chat about what the banks are doing, or ask, "What is fossil fuel ([link removed]) ?"
We're alternating between two Chase Bank locations.
