Today, as we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., it's a moment for deep reflection on the courage exhibited by those who shaped the civil rights movement.

Dr. King's teachings emphasized the vital roles of determination, compassion, and nonviolence in the pursuit of social change. He spent his life fighting for a more equitable government. From equal access to the ballot box to a living minimum wage and affordable housing, his vision remains as relevant today as ever. Today is a reminder that our work is not done – we must celebrate Dr. King’s legacy by recommitting to action.

Our strength lies in collaborative efforts that transcend our differences, working together to forge a more perfect union. Embracing and acknowledging the diverse backgrounds and struggles of others strengthens our collective resolve. I’m ready to fight in Congress with that same spirit of collaborative effort to make our government work better for us all.
