Bradley Beach will receive $1,416,279 to make streetscape improvements, including upgrades to Main Street. The project will help support important pedestrian improvements, including installing new brick pavers, streetlights, tree wells, benches, crosswalks, ADA upgrades, and bike racks as well as reconfiguring sidewalk corners to better accommodate pedestrians and cyclists.
This funding will help make downtown easier to access and improve safety for residents and tourists as they walk to restaurants and other local businesses in the Borough. I’m glad we were able to get this project across the finish line.
More Resources for Our First Responders in Perth Amboy
I was in Perth Amboy today for the dedication of a new fireboat to help the Fire Department in Perth Amboy respond to emergencies on the water. I supported the request for federal funding so that Perth Amboy’s Fire Department has the resources it needs. The Department of Homeland Security and FEMA awarded Perth Amboy $900,000 in Port Security Grant funding for a new, 44-foot fire rescue boat. Additionally, the Perth Amboy Police Department was also awarded $45,000 for maintenance of its existing four police boats.
The tragic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge showed just how important it is to give our first responders the equipment they need to respond to emergencies quickly and efficiently. We are grateful for everything they do to keep our community safe and healthy.
