If you’re anything like me, then I’m sure your inbox is full of messages asking for your support and your contributions.

Trust me, I know how exhausting it can get. And I want you to know that I don’t expect you to donate to — or even open — every email from my team and me.

But since you did open this one, I hope you’ll keep reading and give me a chance to explain the two main reasons I’m asking for your support today.

I want to hold onto our Democratic majority in the Senate. Democrats are defending double the amount of seats as the GOP, including states that voted for Donald Trump like Ohio and Montana. My goal is to make sure our campaign has the resources to do anything to help that these Democratic campaigns ask of us, and I need your support to do so.

I want Democrats to take back the House, and the road to do that runs through California. Democrats only need to flip a handful of seats to win a majority, and there are enough races in California alone to make it happen. That’s why I’m going to do everything I can to support Democrats up and down the ballot here in California. But once again, I can’t do it without you.
If you can’t afford to make a contribution today, I understand, and I’m thankful for your support still — and that you made it this far in the email!
