Dear Neighbor, I hope you are well! I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on several happenings in the district as well as Harrisburg.

Primary Election

Pennsylvania's Primary Election is Tuesday, April 23rd. In this election you will be voting for candidates who are running for President of the United States, U.S. Senator, PA Attorney General, Auditor General, State Treasurer, U.S. Representative, and PA State Representative and PA State Senator. If you requested a mail-in ballot and received an email on April 5th, your ballot should have arrived by April 16th. If you requested a mail-in ballot and received an email on April 12, your ballot will arrive by April 19. Montgomery County recommends dropping off your mail-in ballot at one of the 12 secure ballot drop boxes around the county to ensure it is received by Election Day.

The two closest secure ballot drop boxes to our district are:

Royersford - Victory Park Parking Lot

2nd & Arch Street, Royersford, PA 19468 (near the electric vehicle charging stations)

Skippack - Montgomery County 4H Center

1015 Bridge Road, Collegeville, PA 19474

If you have any questions about voting, please call the Montgomery County Voter Services office at 610-278-3280 or stop by one of their office locations.

Once again, Election Day is Tuesday, April 23, polls will be open from 7am to 8pm.

Senior Fair

My 2024 Senior Fair is next week! Join me on Thursday, April 25th at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center from 10 am to 2pm to receive legislative updates and speak with over 50 vendors on senior services. If you have not done so, please call my office at RSVP at 484-200-8263.

Pennsylvania Utility Commission Notice

The Pennsylvania Office of Consumer Advocate (OCA) has notified our office that PECO Gas recently filed a request to increase rates for their customers with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. PECO's proposal includes a residential monthly customer charge increase of 36%, from $14.25 to $19.38 per month, as well as a 16.5% increase in the total bill for a residential customer purchasing 80 Ccf per month. Over the next few months the OCA will be reviewing PECO's Proposal to determine the lawfulness and fairness of these proposed increases.

You can request to be added to OCA's mailing list to stay up to date on the review by emailing [email protected]. Consumers are also able to file a complaint against the utility's rate increase by submitting a formal complaint form available at https://www.puc.pa.gov/complaints/formal-complaints. By submitting the complaint, your position on the rate increase would become part of the record considered in the rate case.

Upper Providence e-Waste Recycling Event

Upper Providence will host an e-Waste Recycling event for local residents on Saturday, May 18th, 2024. This event is available to all residents and small businesses with fewer than 50 employees. Electronics will be recycled by eForce Compliance, Philadelphia's first certified responsible recycler.
