# [#]Aloha Friend,
On Tuesday of this week Governor Josh Green presented keys to the first family to move into Ke Ao Maluhia at Maui Lani, the new housing development for families displaced by last year’s fires on Maui.

Presenting actual keys to an ‘ohana today brings hope and healing beyond words.”
Located in Kahului, Ke Ao Maluhia is a collaborative effort between the state of Hawaii, Maui County, the Hawaii Community Foundation, the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement, FEMA, and the American Red Cross.
The first phase including 34 homes is set to be completed in June, and an additional 16 homes for a total of 50 will be completed in July.
The modular homes are each just under 600 square feet with two bedrooms, and residents must be verified as impacted by the Maui wildfires.
The project's cost is just under $9 million and is being developed and managed by CNHA on land owned by Maui County.
Labor support for the project is being provided by the Hawaii Regional Council of Carpenters with furniture donated by Convoy for Hope, and wrap-around services including financial literacy will be provided by CNHA’s Kākoʻo Maui Relief & Aid Services Center.
We will continue to keep you updated on our progress in finding long-term housing for every family displaced by the Maui fires.
If you support Josh’s efforts to provide housing for Maui fire survivors, please consider pitching in a donation today. [[link removed]]
