Happy Mother's Day from AHC We celebrated Mother’s Day by making gift baskets with the residents in our Women’s Empowerment program. This was a great way to build community in Baltimore and share some love. Gorilla Sculpture Now Complete The Gates of Ballston gorilla is officially done! Studio PAUSE, an organization dedicated to creating art and community, worked with students in our Afterschool program to create a mascot that they view as their protector. Adam Henry, the artist-in-residence at Gates of Ballston who created the sculpture, led the students in activities to help them think creatively and express themselves in new ways. The gorilla is now on display at the community center. Volunteer Appreciation Recap Last month’s Volunteer Appreciation Event was a big success.
