Dear Comrade,

On Tuesday, the DC Council voted on the second piece of legislation to address the COVID crisis. They took many important steps to protect renters, workers, incarcerated people, and more. Unfortunately, they continued to fail excluded workers.

Nearly all members of the Council made statements in support of funding for excluded workers. However, the Council is not scheduled to meet for another month. In order to meet the urgent and growing need for cash assistance to excluded workers, Mayor Bowser must act.

An important ally to Metro DC DSA, DC Jobs With Justice, has called on all DC residents and organizations to reach out to the DC Council and demand that they address the need of all workers and community member in the city. You can read DC JWJ's statement here.

Along with DC JWJ, we call on Mayor Bowser to act THIS WEEK to ensure the safety of these excluded members of our community.
