Root Routledge - 5-minute video on the Coronavirus Pandemic
|
|
Hi Everyone,
This is a 5-minute video address I recorded a few days ago, April5th, 2020. I speak about the coronavirus pandemic and what the best immediate response needs to be in this next phase of legislation; and how we must address this kind of systemic failure in the future.
Although Bernie Sanders has suspended his campaign after I produced this video, he is still leading the effort in the Senate and all of his policies are mainstream crucial to our future. If it wasn't before, it is now blatantly clear we need Medicare For All. Obviously, it wouldn't have "prevented" the pandemic; but it sure would help our society respond to crises like this, while lowering the anxiety and fear that pervades our population. Millions of people have recently lost their employer-sponsored healthcare insurance — you know; the healthcare insurance so many of the "also-ran" candidates were touting as the gem that gave everyone a "choice". Well, it's quite clear they don't have a choice; they had what went with their employment, which wasn't even comprehensive or universal. And they've lost their income as well, that was lost with their jobs.
Like all other developed countries, the American people should not have to fear having no healthcare, or getting financially wiped out by a tragedy like this. Healthcare must be a human right; not a "pay-as-you-go" privilege for those with lots of money.
More in the video. CD3 Assembly Delegates, please think deeply about our future; what has failed in a systemic fashion; and please dig deeply into which candidate has the systems analysis and systems design expertise to address systemic problems of this nature. You will find that I am the only candidate with a lifetime (age 73) of that type of professional expertise and experience.
Please vote for me, Root Routledge, so I can make into the June 30th Primary. I need to get at least 30%, or 137 votes, of the 455 total delegate votes. Thanks very much.
With warm regards and blessings to all, especially to those who are suffering from this pandemic.
