We’re only on week two of our SCOTUS Watch, with no decision released yet, and have already chewed our nails down to the nubs. Why do we do this, you ask? SO YOU DON’T HAVE TO! Stick with us, kid, and you’ll know the minute the decisions come down- and not just because our collective shriek will be heard across the world as our rage finally turns us into the harpies we were always meant to be.

MISSOURI: THIS IS NOT HOW YOU COURT ‘THE YOUTHS’
For a state with a horrifying infant and maternal mortality rate, you’d think Missouri would be doing everything it can to attract future OB-GYN’s, but instead they’re seeing the effects of their abortion ban: a 25% drop in OB-GYN residents! It doesn’t take an extraordinary leap of imagination to understand that physicians don’t want to practice in a state that would jail them for giving their patients the healthcare they need. Shouldn’t this have been obvious, or was punishing Idahoans with a lack of needed healthcare the point? We’ll never know.

It’s not just Missouri chasing away residents...

IDAHO + WEST VIRGINIA + ANY BANNED STATE: YOU FUCKED UP, TOO
States with abortion bans are causing actual practicing OB-GYNs to flee their states! From Idaho to West Virginia, it should surprise no one that doctors no longer feel safe not just practicing but living in their states due to extreme abortion restrictions! They’ve spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to become experts in their field, only to have a bunch of nothingburger politicians dictate how they do their jobs? We’d leave, too!
