John,

First off, I hope you and your loved ones are safe and well during these trying times.

Put simply, the past few weeks have been nothing short of challenging for Californians.

COVID-19 has shown us just how much we depend on one another, and that no matter where we come from, what we look like, or how much money we have, we know this is the time for Californians to pull together and take care of one another.

More than ever we are relying on our hospitals, schools, small businesses, and neighbors to protect the health and well-being of our communities.

In this critical time for Californians, one thing we can all do to ensure adequate funding for the services we rely on is to participate in the 2020 Census. The Census takes place every 10 years and is a count of all residents, including non-citizens, currently living in the United States.

John, have you participated in the 2020 Census? Take our survey below to let us know.

Completing the Census ensures that our local communities will have the federal funding we need to keep our communities safe and healthy. You can participate in the Census:

Completing the Census is easy and safe. It’s 9 questions about who lives in your household, including young children, renters, and non-citizens. All information shared is confidential. The Census Bureau is not allowed to share your individual information with other government agencies, immigration officials, or the public.

By making sure each and every one of us — whether Black or white, Asian or Latinx, native or newcomer — is counted in the Census, we ensure we have the vital resources we need to be well through this outbreak and beyond.

Together,

Victor Suarez, We Are California
