It’s in the news and on your mind, so I’ll cut to the chase. I spoke personally with President Biden this weekend, and he reassured me he is committed to running against and beating Donald Trump.

Joe Biden is our party’s nominee, and I’ll continue to do everything I can to support the Biden-Harris campaign.

That’s because I know Joe, and I trust Joe. But it’s also because I believe deep in my heart that Donald Trump is a threat not only to the progress we’ve made these past four years, but a threat to democracy itself.

The stakes of this election are simply too high to continue fretting and worrying. We need to channel our time and energy into organizing and mobilizing voters to turn out this November.

Because if Donald Trump and his MAGA Republicans win, they will immediately begin to implement their far-right Project 2025 agenda.

They want a national abortion ban.

They want to escalate attacks on immigrant communities and carry out mass deportations.

They want to reverse environmental protections and leave California and our nation unprepared for the devastating impacts of climate change.

They’re even talking about attacks on our free and fair elections — the cornerstone of our democracy.
