In case you missed it, Trump’s campaign is going after me for calling attention to his plan to fire federal workers – a direct threat to Virginia’s economy, Virginia’s federal employees, and thousands of Virginia jobs.

Under “Agenda 47” on his campaign website, he’s promising to bring back the reckless Schedule F executive order on “Day One.” He plans on firing public servants, those who have dedicated their lives to service — and then replacing them with Trump loyalists.

Virginia has more than 140,000 federal workers. Trump’s agenda would put the livelihoods of thousands of Virginians at risk.

The Virginians who have dedicated their careers to serving our country — including scientists, civilian DoD employees, law enforcement officers, infectious disease researchers, attorneys, and accountants — do not deserve this level of contempt.

After I called attention to this terrible idea, Trump’s campaign attacked me and tried to backpedal Agenda 47’s disastrous impacts on Virginia’s economy. Don’t be fooled – Virginians know what’s at stake this November.
