Over the past few weeks, I’ve traveled throughout the Ninth District to hear directly from Northeast Georgians. One overarching theme that continues to dominate these thoughtful conversations: It’s policy over personality.
In our increasingly polarized environment, it’s easy to get wrapped up in the personalities of politics. The left-wing media gets a kick out of pushing false narratives and promoting erroneous stories that question, smear, and flat-out attack the character of conservative leaders.
While it’s important to call out and correct fake news, it’s equally important to remember what truly matters.
And folks, what truly matters is policy.
After all, it’s policy that impacts our daily lives. Policies either lower or fuel inflation, secure or open the southern border, safeguard or devastate our communities, defend or destroy our freedoms, and promote peace or create chaos on the world stage. It’s always policies that determine the success or failure of our great nation.
Yet Democrats know their policies are destructive to our Republic — which is why the Left will do anything to hide the truth about their failed agenda from the American people.Â
Just look at Vice President Kamala Harris. Despite playing a key role in the Biden-Harris Administration, she’s desperately trying to distance herself from the White House’s policy failures. Moreover, rather than promoting her radical record, she’s attempting to flip-flop on virtually every policy position she’s previously held.Â
In response to questions and criticism surrounding her sudden shift, Kamala Harris claims her “values have not changed.”
Well, your values undeniably shape your policy! And Kamala's values support policies to decriminalize illegal immigration, confiscate firearms, ban fracking, abolish ICE, defund the police, and eliminate private health insurance — just to name a few.
In stark contrast, Republicans are committed to advancing policies that deliver an economy that’s strong, a border that’s secure, and a nation that’s safe. From President Trump to myself and my conservative colleagues in Congress, we’re fighting for commonsense policies that put our country back on track.
So, amidst the rancor and discord, I encourage you to rise above the noise. Focus on the policies that leaders are championing — not the personalities that the media is falsely portraying.Â
