John,
Today is World Contraception Day, but we’re still fighting for safe, affordable, and accessible contraception.
Behind closed doors, anti-choice MAGA politicians are attacking access to birth control, but we’re fighting back.
In June, the Senate had the opportunity to pass a bill for accessible contraception, but not a single Republican voted for it, and it failed.
In the states, extremists embrace obvious misinformation: in Missouri, lawmakers falsely claimed that birth control causes abortions, blocking a bill that would have increased access.
And just this week, Florida Board of Education officials, appointed by none other than Governor Ron DeSantis, directed public schools to roll back their sex-ed curriculums on contraception in favor of abstinence-only lessons.
Our candidates are on the frontlines of this fight, and they urgently need our support.
-
In Georgia, State Rep. Marvin Lim sponsored legislation to enshrine the right to contraception in state law.
-
In North Carolina, state senate candidate Kim Sexton-Lewter led a letter-writing campaign urging the FDA to make emergency contraception more accessible.
- And in Michigan, Christina Hines, candidate for Macomb County Prosecuting Attorney, has pledged to protect access to telehealth care.
Access to contraception is incredibly popular: 9 in 10 Americans support legal access to birth control. Still, anti-choice politicians continue to ignore the will of the people in order to control our bodies and our autonomy.
This World Contraception Day, will you help us protect accessible birth control across the country?
Thanks for your support,
