TODAY @ 3:30 CT/4:30 ET: Major Announcement Regarding DOJ Review of Tulsa Race Massacre
TULSA – Join the two remaining survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre; Damario Solomon-Simmons, lead attorney for the survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre; and U.S. Congressman Al Green for a press conference announcing a major breakthrough in Greenwood’s 103-year fight for justice.
The press conference will be held Monday, Sept. 30 at 3:30pm CT/4:30pm ET at Tulsa’s Greenwood Cultural Center. A live stream will be available at justiceforgreenwood.org/stream.

WHAT:
Press Conference to announce a major development in the fight to achieve justice 103 years after the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The last two remaining survivors of the Tulsa Race Massacre, 109-year-old Lessie Benningfield Randle and 110-year-old Viola Fletcher, have been pushing the U.S. Department of Justice and the Biden administration to launch an investigation into the destruction of Greenwood while they’re still alive.
In June, the Oklahoma Supreme Court dismissed the survivors’ historic lawsuit seeking to hold the City of Tulsa accountable for its role in the Massacre.
