We've come a long way from Bill Clinton's slogan that abortion should be "safe, legal, and rare."

Allocating $10 million of state funding toward a new abortion facility, New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham actually suggested that she desires to make abortions less rare: "The goal here is build it and they will come," she said.

This won't be your typical abortion center. It will be located just behind a children's clinic. And it's intended to lure out-of-state women for abortions and to train and deploy new abortionists.

While the new abortion facility isn't expected to open for a year or more, 40 Days for Life participants in Las Cruces, New Mexico, are already standing vigil.

They have reason to believe their prayers will be heard. Over the last decade, three different abortion facilities in the region have closed following 40 Days for Life vigils!

"We're...putting our faith into action...through prayer, fasting, peaceful vigil, and community outreach, confident that we will see God work miracles again," said longtime vigil leader Mark Cavaliere.

What a miracle it would be if prayer closed the abortion facility before it opened. It's happened before!

Lima, Perú

A young woman in Perú wanted an abortion. Fortunately, a Catholic nun in her life knew just where to send her: the Lima 40 Days for Life team.

Prayer warriors connected the expectant mother to a pregnancy help center and prayed fervently for her.

"Yesterday, the girl chose life!" shared 40 Days for Life director of Latin American campaigns Lourdes Varela.

Aurora, Colorado

Lisa was named the 40 Days for Life leader of the year back in 2018 for her efforts leading vigils in the Phoenix area.

Her excellent leadership continues in the Denver suburbs, where she brought a new campaign to Aurora.

Lisa and her team are working hard to connect abortion-minded women with the resources they need to turn away from Planned Parenthood.

"Two...women decided to accept the life-affirming information that was offered," she recently reported. "This information can provide help and support to them as well as for their family and circle of friends."

Then the devil took him up to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in their magnificence, and he said to him, "All these I shall give to you, if you will prostrate yourself and worship me.”

Lord, help each of us overcome the temptation of discouragement. Give us the perseverance to follow your will and remember that you hear our prayers even when we don’t see the results. If it is your will, use us to save more lives than we will know in this lifetime. Amen.
