I'm amazed, John. Hundreds of
supporters just like you from
District of Columbia have made donations over the past few days
in response to the email that Andreas sent below.
Which means that as of today, we are just a few donations short if we're
going to fully fund every member of 350.org's COP29 delegation. So I'm
asking you personally, John:
[ [link removed] ]Can you make a
$3.50
donation today so we can send climate activists to the COP29 meetings in
Azerbaijan, and hold world leaders accountable to bold climate action?

Thank you so, so much for making your
first online donation
today. Your support is helping us fight back against the fossil fuel
lobbyists at COP29, and build a strong climate movement. More soon.
All my best,

John -
I'm preparing for the climate talks at COP29. COP is the primary
decision-making body for global climate goals. The decisions made at COP29
are the North Star for countries implementing them on national levels. It
will shape the future of our planet — so we need to be there.
In just a few weeks, I'll travel to Azerbaijan to represent 350.org and
your demands, along with our movement's climate activists. But hundreds of
fossil fuel lobbyists are also getting ready to travel to Azerbaijan.
The good news is that 350.org has 7 slots available for climate activists
in Azerbaijan. So we're aiming to fill every single place to even the
odds.
We will put pressure on decision-makers to phase out all fossil fuels and
set ambitious financial commitments to fund a global transition to
renewable energy.
Which is why I'm writing to you today,
John:
We need to raise $11,000 to cover the costs before the COP29 meetings
start. But we also can't afford sending less than our assigned 7 activists
to the climate talks. So I am asking you personally:

$3.50
donation today so that we can afford to send ALL 7 climate activists to
the COP29 meetings in Azerbaijan?

I realize it might not always feel like it, but your
$3.50
is truly helping fight the fossil fuel industry. It's helping us push for
a fair transition to renewable energy, in which we make sure communities
are no longer exploited, but reap the benefits.
Because unlike Big Oil's lobbyists who have endless pots of money to get
their disastrous projects in front of world leaders, our climate activists
rely on supporters like you chipping in $5, $10, or whatever you can, to
afford basic lodging, food, and internet connection during the conference
so that we can organize for bold climate action around the clock.
But with just a few weeks left, we are falling short if we are going to
send climate activists to the climate talks.
One of the most inspiring things about our climate movement is that when
every person chips in what they can, we are able to achieve what most
people think is impossible. And the time for bold action to phase out of
fossil fuels and power up renewable energies is now.
[ [link removed] ]If you can, please consider making a contribution today so we can
pressure the world leaders not to give in to the fossil fuel industry, but
instead set bold financial commitments to fund the just transition at
COP29.
We'll keep you posted every step of the way on how your contribution is
helping us protect our climate and our communities. More soon.
Onwards,
