Katie Britt played leading role in taking GOP Senate majority – ‘Americans are
ready for results’

<[link removed]>

U.S. Senator Katie Britt believes Americans are ready for the change that the
new Republican majority will bring to the U.S. Senate next year — a flip that
Britt fought hard to make happen.

“America is ready for a change,” Britt said this week. “The want secure
borders, they want stable prices, they want a strong defense understanding
peace through strength, no new wars like we had under President Trump, and
people are ready for common sense policies.”

Republicans were able to win back the majority by flipping three seats red
while also retaining their incumbents. Part of that effort included a victory
for incumbent U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), who Britt recently traveled to
Texas to campaign for Cruz in the pivotal Houston suburb of Montgomery County.

As trial begins, Katie Britt renews call for passage of Laken Riley Act –
‘Laken’s death was preventable’

<[link removed]>

U.S. Senator Katie Britt criticized Democrats in the Senate Monday for
blocking the Laken Riley Act from moving forward in the upper chamber. An
illegal immigrant accused of killing a nursing student in Georgia, Laken Riley,
will be tried later this month after his attorneys attempted to delay
proceedings in the investigation.

“The first action the Senate should take when we reconvene is passing the
bipartisan Laken Riley Act,” Britt said. “No family should endure such
heartbreak due to failed border policies. It’s past time to put Americans’
safety first & pass this bill.”

Britt introduced the bill earlier this year that would require U.S.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to arrest illegal aliens who commit
theft, burglary, larceny, or shoplifting offenses and would mandate that these
aliens are detained until they are removed from the United States so they
cannot reoffend and commit further crimes.

Katie Britt vows to work with Trump on Space Command, protecting Vulcan
Materials in Mexico

<[link removed]>

Alabama U.S. Sen. Katie Britt outlined her priorities for working with
President-elect Donald Trump and a new Senate majority, including two specific
to Alabama – moving the headquarters of the Space Command to Huntsville and
protecting the interests of Vulcan Materials in Mexico.

Republicans won control of the Senate on Tuesday and could retain control of
the House if undecided races fall their way.

A primary focus for the senator in the next Congress will be renewing and
enhancing tax cuts passed during Trump’s first term in 2017.

“I am excited to work with President Trump to get America back on track,”
Britt said in a statement.
