Dear Friends & Patriots,

As you gather with family and friends for Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays I’d like to encourage you to pass along this incredible news that’s almost too good to be true!

What if you could redirect your tax dollars to support private and Christian education? Would you want to? I’m guessing your answer is a resounding yes!

As a passionate supporter of school choice, I’m volunteering through our children’s private school, Lanier Christian Academy, to help spread the word about an amazing opportunity that expires on December 31. This opportunity allows you to simply redirect your tax dollars to support parents in Georgia who want choices in their children’s education.

The best part? Participating in this cause does NOT require making a donation. Instead, you simply redirect your existing tax dollars! Chelsey and I have been participating in this for years. In fact, during my time as a Georgia legislator, I was proud to champion legislation that expanded this program.

Through the GOAL Student Scholarship Organization (see the link below), you can designate your tax dollars for 2025 to go directly to a private school instead of the Georgia general fund. In turn, 100% of the redirected funds will help need-based families access private education. You’ll receive a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit for the amount you redirect.
* Single filers can redirect up to $2,500.
* Joint filers can redirect up to $5,000.
* Businesses can participate as well, redirecting up to 75% of their Georgia tax liability. This offers an additional federal deduction, just as if you were donating to a church or nonprofit organization.

Here are a couple pertinent details:
1. Deadline to Sign Up: December 31 at midnight.
2. Notification of Approved Amount: By January 10 (from the Georgia Department of Revenue).
3. Deadline to Contribute: You’ll have until March 11 to contribute your redirected tax dollars.

Note: If you don’t have a specific private school in mind, I’d be incredibly grateful if you’d consider choosing Lanier Christian Academy from the drop-down menu!

Don’t worry—if you sign up and later change your mind, that’s perfectly fine. Similarly, if you sign up for a larger amount but decide to redirect less, that’s okay too. Remember, this will only affect your 2025 taxes, not your upcoming 2024 taxes.
