Dear John,
In his last speech, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke of the “difficult days ahead,” a notion that resonates strongly today. He considered his role in the multigenerational fight for justice, for a promised land where everyone would be treated with dignity and respect. “I may not get there with you,” he said, but “we, as a people, will get to the promised land.” Indeed, we will, and we will do so in movement, together, bending the arc of the universe towards justice.
To honor and build on Dr. King’s legacy, we invite you to come together at the 37th annual All Peoples Celebration, in the heart of San Diego, on Monday, January 20, 2025. This year, the event falls on Inauguration Day, a moment that portends “difficult days ahead.” We will meet that moment with light to drive out darkness, and love to drive out hate. We welcome you to spend the morning with us for an uplifting program with music, energy, and inspiration.

Get your tickets early. Until November 30, we are offering tickets to the 37th All Peoples Celebration at our early-bird pricing of $50/ticket and $450/table of 10 (ten) . Join us in a space of connection, community, and positive energy as we recognize our collective humanity and claim our dignity. The event will be held at the Balboa Park Activity Center from 9 am to 12 pm, and includes a community space to learn about social justice organizations in the region, followed by a dynamic program. We will gather our Beloved Community, share thoughts, experience the talent of local artists, and engage in meaningful conversations. This will be an opportunity to focus on the things that bring us closer, celebrate our shared values, learn new ways to protect dignity, and build a stronger sense of unity.
Come for the good vibes, stay for the laughter, and leave feeling uplifted. Whether you’re looking for a distraction, a chance to meet new people, or just some friendly faces, we welcome you, your friends, and your family. We hope to see you there!
