Dear Friend,
Fig was left all alone in a cage in an abandoned apartment building. When a kind-hearted person finally found him, his food bowl was empty, and so was his stomach. But despite his mistreatment, all he wanted was love.
Fig’s rescuer made a choice that would change Fig’s life forever—she decided to help.
She brought Fig to PAWS and that kindness served as a catalyst. First, Fig saw our veterinary team, then our foster team went to work finding him a cozy place to recoup. That's how he met Sheila D'Aniello.
Giving Tuesday, one of the most important days of the year for PAWS Chicago's homeless pets, is Dec. 3. Your gift today will be matched up to $20,000. ([link removed])
“From the moment Fig got in the car, he seemed to fit right in. He sat in the backseat and put his head on the armrest and gave me the biggest puppy dog eyes. It's as though he knew he was going home,” says Sheila.
And Fig was right. After a couple of weeks together, Sheila knew Fig was meant to be an official, adopted part of her family.

Today, Fig is so comfortable in his new home, he enjoys sleeping on his back with his paws in the air and his belly fully exposed—for a dog, this is as good as it gets.
Help Pets Like Fig ([link removed])
None of this would have been possible without our PAWS community of volunteers, fosters, adopters, supporters and all-around animal lovers. We’re so grateful for you. And now, we’re asking for your help today.
Giving Tuesday is next week, Dec. 3. Longtime PAWS supporters and animal advocates the Robert and Mayari Pritzker Family Foundation and Nancy Aversa have already answered the call to help by issuing a $20,000 Giving Tuesday Match.
Making your gift today helps ensure we capture the entire $20,000 match. Pets need us all. Please donate.

** A Pet-Lover's Perfect Gift
------------------------------------------------------------
The holidays are a time to show you care, and nothing does that better than supporting a cause close to someone’s heart. For all the animal-lovers in your life, near and far, consider a gesture that means so much more than a trinket or bauble—donate to PAWS in someone’s name and let them know their gift is helping save the lives of dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens.

** Helping Hawthorne
------------------------------------------------------------
Incredibly smart and often misunderstood, six-year-old Hawthorne needed someone who would appreciate and cultivate his intelligence. He found that in adopter Kathy Kiser.
“I started turning on a nature channel, which he loved. I then noticed him watching intently when I was watching the news and other shows. Weirdly, he seems to like the morning news the best,” says Kathy.
