Season's Greetings, it's your Aunt Lizz with our 2024 Abortion Access Front Holiday letter! This year brought so much AAF family news - some good, some iffy, and some that you never wanted to know, but I'm going to tell you anyway!!!

Good News : My colonoscopy was a one-benign-polyp snip this year, yay!
Bad News : Our body politic has developed many malignant assholes, so thoughts and prayers.

Ok, on a personal note: To whomever draws my name this year for the family gift exchange, I'm fully stocked on the holiday barrel of glazed cheddar porketta bites!
I could use the cash to help keep the AAF fam ready to fight what’s ahead. And boy howdy, will we have to fight!

Now where to begin… (and we're not gonna mention evil Uncle Donny and his creepy friends…)

Let’s start with poor Cousin Mife. Mifepristone has been doing such good work as a safe and effective medication for abortions and has helped with miscarriages too! But those anti-abortion know-nothings took her to The Supreme Court and lied, lied, lied!!! Of course, AAF showed up to stand in solidarity for bodily autonomy. In fact, we helped Cousin Mife form a musical group called Mife & the Misotones that debuted at the Democratic National Convention this summer!

It also didn’t help that those same senators started bringing crusty old Uncle Comstock around again , trying to use his law from 1873 to ban abortion. WE THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD! But noooo, there he is glad handing with the anti-abortion freaks trying to revive his 150-year-old zombie laws to oppress us all! But we jumped into action again and gathered 50,000 signatures on our petition to repeal his law! AAF also arranged for our sister MN Senator Tina Smith to debate him on the internets and 500,000 people watched!

Dear, I could go on about all the good things our family is doing to protect our rights to our bodies but right now I need to ask for your support. We can't do any of this without you!

Thanks to you, we are standing strong! We've pulled up our knickers and have been busy at work. Abortion clinics need help, troops need rallying, and laughter needs to be part of the revolution!

Other than that, it’s been the usual around here: training folks to fight for abortion access, complaining about Season 3 of The Bear... I’m sure this year has been a lot for you too, hon! Make sure you take your vitamins, get your flu and covid shots and wear a scarf… there’s so much respiratory illness going around.
