Pass the Climate Superfund Act!
On December 10th and 11th in Albany, Demand Hochul Sign the Bill
The ground-breaking Climate Superfund Act, which makes the point that the fossil fuel industry must be accountable for the damages of the climate crisis, was passed by the state Senate and Assembly, but Hochul has refused to sign it. Join a coalition of activists pressuring Hochul to do her job, by signing the bill by 12/31, with a two-day sit-in (with training by scientists, union groups and others) in the "War Room" just outside the governor's office in Albany. Sign up for the sit-in here and transportation will be provided.
Testify! Tell the New York Power Authority to build the renewable energy we need
Mondays, 12 - 1 pm
In 2023 New York State passed the Build Public Renewables Act that authorized our only public utility, the New York Power Authority (NYPA), to build renewable energy sources where the private sector is falling short. NYPA has now published a draft of its plan, but it, too, falls far short of what we need. NYPA will take comments from the public until December 13. All you need to write a comment is in this comment prep. The sheer number of comments pushing them to do better is critical. Your comment doesn't need to be long or complex - every comment counts. So comment today!
