We Have an Aggie in the White House

Congratulations to my longtime friend Brooke Rollins. A few weeks ago, I tweeted that President Trump would likely hand-pick her for a powerful position. Over the weekend, he did. She was the acting director of the United States Domestic Policy Council during his first term, and she has now joined his cabinet as agriculture secretary. Her degree is in agriculture from Texas A&M University. It’s great to see a former Texas FFA student in this incredibly important position overseeing America’s food supply.

Department of Public Safety (DPS) Reception Honoring Colonel Steven McCraw

On Wednesday, I attended a special event at the Bullock Texas State History Museum to deliver remarks and honor Colonel Steven McCraw for his outstanding career with the Texas Department of Public Safety. He will be greatly missed, and we are grateful for his lifetime of service. I know Freeman Martin will do an excellent job taking over his position and will continue to keep Texas safe.

Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute (TCCRI) Clements Scholar Reception

With former students of the Clements Legislative Study Program

Last week, I was honored to join the folks at TCCRI for a reception benefitting the Clements Legislative Study Program.

As one of the program's two founders and its current chair, I am proud of its role in equipping conservative college students with firsthand experience in the legislative process through placements in offices at the Texas Capitol.

This program is the largest of its kind in Texas, dedicated to fostering the next generation of conservative leaders.
