News from Representative Robert Aderholt

Dear Mr. xxxxxx:

Happy Day Before Thanksgiving.

This month's newsletter is coming out a little earlier than usual because of the holiday. But I did want to give you an update on what has been an eventful November 2024.

President Trump Elected

First, thank you for re-electing me to serve you for two more years in Congress. It is truly my honor to serve Alabama's Fourth Congressional District in Washington.

This election brought with it a wave of enthusiasm and hope as President Trump was elected to once again lead our great nation. The American people have spoken, and their choice reflects a desire to return to policies that prioritize strong economic growth, national security, and a renewed sense of American pride. As we move forward, I share in the excitement of my colleagues in Congress as we anticipate working hand-in-hand with President Trump to deliver on the promises that resonated so deeply with voters across the country. Together, we are ready to take on the challenges ahead and to ensure that the values of hard-working Americans are not only represented but championed.

This new chapter brings with it a sense of urgency and opportunity. From addressing inflation and securing our borders, to revitalizing manufacturing and standing firm on the world stage, we are prepared to get to work. I am confident that under President Trump’s leadership, and with the support of a united Republican Congress, we will see significant progress on these critical issues.

I am committed to ensuring that Alabama’s voice is heard loud and clear in shaping our nation’s future. Let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work – the best is yet to come!

Appropriations Update from Washington

Congress is currently operating under a Continuing Resolution when it comes to funding the federal government. This resolution will likely remain until the early months of the Trump Administration, giving President Trump a voice in the process. No matter what path Congress moves forward on regarding funding the federal government, I will continue to fight every day to make sure the values that are so important to those in Alabama’s Fourth Congressional District are represented in federal funding.

Oversight Hearing for NIH and the Social Security Administration

I held hearings focused on oversight of the National Institutes of Health and the Social Security Administration. These hearings allowed me to question the directors of each agency about numerous policies and shortcomings we have seen. I questioned the NIH Director about streamlining the important work done at the Institutes to save taxpayer dollars and refocus their critical mission of keeping Americans healthy.

With the Social Security Administration, I was focused on returning federal employees back to the office. The people of Alabama’s Fourth Congressional District, and all Americans, deserve a federal workforce that shows up to the office everyday and works just as hard as they do.

Space Command

November also saw a renewed focus on bringing Space Command back to Alabama. With President Trump moving back into the White House in January 2025, we hope that there will be a conversation around moving Space Command back to its rightful place in North Alabama.

North Alabama was initially chosen with a merit-based system, proving it was the right place for Space Command to call home. President Biden, in my opinion for political reasons, decided to keep it in Colorado, which didn't even come in second or third in the evaluation process. I look forward to the continued conversations with President Trump and his Administration on making this official.

Wallace State Community Investment Luncheon

This marked the 20th year for Wallace State Community College’s Future Foundation Investment Luncheon. This event helps raise funds to pay for scholarships for students to attend Wallace.

This year's luncheon raised a record $384,621. Normally, Congress is in session when this event is held, but because of the election, we were still out of session, so I was able to attend this great event.

Shoals Chamber Dinner

I was honored to be the speaker at the Shoals Area Chamber of Commerce Dinner. The event took place at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in Tuscumbia. It was an opportunity for me to update everyone on what is happening in Washington and the projects we are working on in my office for the Shoals area.

Thanksgiving Time

This past Thursday night, I was invited to speak and share a meal at the 11th Annual West Blount County Chamber of Commerce Thanksgiving Dinner. I also was able to speak about work in Washington and also how glad I am to have Blount County back in the Fourth District.

I will be back in touch a few days before Christmas. May God bless you and your loved ones.

Sincerely,
