John,
The election did not produce the outcome nationally that I had hoped and worked for, but accepting the results is what democracy demands.
We respect the will of the people. We take stock of where we are. Then, most importantly, we recommit ourselves to the work ahead.
I’ve taken some time to reflect on what this moment means, and here is the truth: we have no choice but to double down on our efforts. The challenges we face — from threats to reproductive freedoms to the climate crisis to the fight for our economy — will grow stronger because of this election. We have to do the same.
This upcoming year will be critical. In the Senate, I have a responsibility to hold Republicans accountable and to ensure our chamber serves the people. I’m proud of what we accomplished over the past four years, from investments in manufacturing, innovation, and infrastructure that have put our economy on a stronger track, our support for veterans, as well as progress on gun safety and mental health. My goal will be to find ways to keep advancing these priorities however I can.
I can’t do this alone. To keep working for you, I need your support. We have just a few days left to hit my first end-of-month fundraising goal of this new era. Will you chip in today to help me stay prepared? >> [link removed]
Thank you,
Chris
