This year, during an intense election, I’ve seen incredible acts of dedication to democracy and to the truth across our state. From election workers ensuring every vote is counted, to voters who stand in line to make their voices heard, to supporters like you who defend the truth and protect our democracy every day—I am truly inspired.

I’m grateful for the trust Minnesotans place in me to safeguard our elections. I don’t take this responsibility lightly. Ensuring free, fair, and secure elections isn’t just my job—it’s my passion. And it’s made possible because of the people who believe in this work.

At a time when democracy faces challenges from disinformation, threats to election workers, and growing polarization, I remain optimistic. That optimism comes from the strength of our communities, the unwavering commitment to truth, and the shared belief that our democracy is worth protecting. Does democracy sometimes seem a bit dented? Sure. But never defeated.

So today, I want to say thank you. I truly appreciate your belief in the power of every vote and every voice.

From my family to yours, I wish you a joyful and peaceful Thanksgiving. Let’s continue to stand together for a stronger, more vibrant democracy.

With gratitude,

Steve Simon
