I wish the people of Colorado a wonderful Thanksgiving! We all have so much to be thankful for as Coloradans and as Americans, and I hope that we all take this opportunity to show grace and gratitude for what we have. May your Thanksgiving be fulfilling and meaningful!-Gov. Jared Polis

Kicking off Thanksgiving by Celebrating Colorado’s Hardworking Farmers and Ranchers

There are so many reasons to be grateful here in Colorado. Among those are our farmers and producers, who work tirelessly year-round to grow the delicious, fresh food that sustains us. It’s thanks to their hard work that we can enjoy the bounty of Colorado-grown products on our tables, from potatoes and pumpkins to Olathe sweet corn and squash.

honor of pardoning four very special turkeys: Lady Riketa Featherington, Dinger, Rockette, and Fred, all of whom joined us from local Colorado farms. Marlon and I welcomed our esteemed guests for an overnight stay at the Governor’s Mansion, where they got a good night’s rest before journeying to their forever home at

This special annual tradition celebrates the many contributions of Colorado’s thriving agriculture industry to our culture and our economy. If you want to gobble up some delicious Colorado-grown products and make your meal a Colorado Proud Thanksgiving, you can visit

Denver Rescue Mission to help with their Holiday Lunch Service, which provides holiday meals to those in need. Spending time with the Mission’s dedicated team and volunteers, I was reminded of the important work Coloradans do every day to build a stronger Colorado for All. I encourage others to make the most of this holiday season whether through volunteering, donating, or simply showing kindness.
