We know many of you have a personal connection to our mission–an experience or story that touched you. Perhaps it was an elephant you saw with a chain around her foot, or a chimpanzee locked in a cage along the road. Perhaps you were moved by these words written by New York Court of Appeals Judge Rowan Wilson’s in Happy’s case: “The rights we confer on others define who we are as a society." Witnessing the injustice of keeping nonhuman animals captive has impacted all of us at some point in our lives.
Every #GivingTuesday, we ask for your support to secure fundamental rights for nonhuman animals who are suffering in captivity, and to break through barriers in our legal system that allow these injustices to continue. This year we wanted to give you a chance to take on a more active role– to use your personal story and connection to our mission to help us fundraise! [[link removed]]
When you create a fundraiser, you can share it with friends, family or colleagues, and more importantly you can share why this cause matters to you. The more public support we build, the more likely we are to see the changes that animals are legally entitled to and urgently need.
It’s simple to set one up, and we even built a toolkit to help guide you through the process if you’ve never done this before!
