More than 1 in 10 (12%) LGBTQ+ young people reported attempting suicide in the past year, according to our recent national survey. ([link removed](i.e.e-newsletter)&utm_source=emailsegment-wholefile1&utm_campaign=generaleffort) But with one accepting adult, those rates drop significantly.
Acceptance matters. Young people who felt supported by even one person, like a parent or caregiver, typically had more than 40% lower odds of attempting suicide. These are more than numbers; they’re stories of lives changed and lives saved.
