STAND WITH US AGAINST GOVERNMENT CRUELTY AND ANIMAL ABUSE

Recently, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation
(NYSDEC) tragically euthanized two beloved animals—PEANUT THE SQUIRREL
AND FRED THE RACCOON—belonging to Mark Longo, a compassionate individual
who devoted time and care to nursing these animals back to health after
finding them in desperate need.

Mark rescued Peanut as a baby squirrel and Fred as an orphaned raccoon,
both of whom he rehabilitated and grew to love as family. Despite this
bond, NYSDEC’s bureaucracy deemed these innocent creatures a threat to
public safety, seizing and killing them WITHOUT REGARD FOR THEIR LIVES or
the clear affection they shared with Mark.

It’s a painful reminder of the government’s reach and the ease with
which faceless bureaucracies can uproot personal lives and enforce
arbitrary rulings. These are animals who posed no harm to society and only
sought refuge in the loving home Mark provided.
