Dear John,
As we gather around the table this Thanksgiving, I wanted to take a moment to reflect and express gratitude for the progress we continue to make together as a community. This season is not only a chance to connect with family, friends, and neighbors, but an opportunity to check-in, reach out, and give back.
Across the Fifth District, over 39,000 households participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). It is essential that we remember those around us who struggle with food security this holiday season. For many years, I have spent Thanksgiving Day at Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministries, serving meals alongside people who have known me since I myself, was on the receiving end of aid.
As your Congresswoman, I remain committed to developing legislation to close disparities and keep children and families fed.
As we acknowledge our shared commitment towards progress, we must also recognize that there is still work to be done. I will continue to lead and develop policies that advance our nation towards improvement.
May the blessings of this day fill your heart and home.
