Dear Jack,

Welcome to the Friday Five! Every Friday we share our top five articles, stories, and quotes for you to read and share with your friends and church families.

We would be very grateful if you couldĀ make a donation of $100, $50, $25, or $10 today towards our work producing these Friday Fives and fighting for your values on the public square!

1. NC VALUES: Happy Thanksgiving!

We wanted to wish all of you a very happy Thanksgiving. We are so very grateful for all of you. May you find much rest and gratitude these days with your friends and family.

ā€œGive thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever.ā€ (Psalm 136:1)

ā€œLet them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.ā€ (Psalm 107:8-9)

2. NC VALUES: This Was the Year We Said No

A decade from now, what will we remember about this Thanksgiving?

Surely weā€™ll remember how we gave thanks, as we do every year, to God Almighty for His many blessingsā€”among them our freedoms, our families, and our faith.

And surely weā€™ll remember the historic presidential election; (perhaps weā€™ll remember the election of another radical NC Governor).

But most of all, I think we will remember Thanksgiving 2024 as a turning point. This was the year that you and I stood against the diabolical worldview of the woke Left and said ā€œNO!ā€

3. CAROLINA JOURNAL: Griffin, two GOP Senate candidates support NC Supreme Court review of GOP election suit

"North Carolina Supreme Court candidate Jefferson Griffin and two Republican state Senate candidates are urging the stateā€™s high court to take a case pitting GOP groups against the State Board of Elections. The case challenges rules the state elections board is using for counting ballots from overseas voters.

Griffin and Senate candidates Ashlee Adams and Stacie McGinn filed paperwork Tuesday with the stateā€™s highest court. All three are involved in recounts of apparent election losses to Democratic opponents. All three hope the state Supreme Court will take up the case Kivett v. Weekly Prayer: Officials

LORD, you also have instructed us to pray for our governing officials, and we come to you in the spirit of this petition. We pray for our state government and its executive, legislative, and judicial servants. May they indeed be servants unto the people, and govern in a manner that protects liberty and virtue. In the same spirit, we pray for public servants across our local governments. May they all heed your mandate in Romans 13:4 to be in positions of authority as ā€œGodā€™s servantā€ and for the ā€œgoodā€ of the public. They govern in what we confess are difficult times. May they plead with you to give them wisdom, and may your grace to govern wisely be poured out on them.

Protect us from the oppression and loss of freedoms that other countries have experienced, and help us to value and preserve freedom, which we know comes only from You.

ā€œI have indeed seen the oppression of my people in Egypt.Ā  I have heard their groaning and have come down to set them free.ā€ Acts 7:34

Amen
