Even in the most severe weather conditions and most remote areas, UNFPA’s mobile gynecological teams and barrier-free gynecological offices continue their extremely important work in 23 regions throughout the country.

But services like this could soon be in jeopardy. The U.S. government defunded UNFPA during Trump’s previous administration, and our funding is at risk once again. If we are defunded, we might have to close 20 safe spaces that provide psychological and mental health support to women and girls traumatized by the war in Ukraine and at increased risk of violence.
